Yep, it’s real.  Below is the actual excerpt from President Obama’s speech that morning.

We know too that whatever our differences, there is one law that binds all great religions together. Jesus told us to “love thy neighbor as thyself.” The Torah commands, “That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow.” In Islam, there is a hadith that reads “None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.” And the same is true for Buddhists and Hindus; for followers of Confucius and for humanists. It is, of course, the Golden Rule – the call to love one another; to understand one another; to treat with dignity and respect those with whom we share a brief moment on this Earth.

Steven Colbert was right all along!

haha that was pretty awesome. I saw the Youtube video for the speech and I showed it to my mom and I must say we were both very impressed. Its rare for a President to do such a thing, in fact, I dont think I can even remember when the last time was when a President quoted a religious text in relation to Islam. I hope this is a sign for better things to come for Muslims, the US, and the world.

It is indeed great for the President of America to have
come out with these quotations. All quotations are true
and correct. What matters is that people of different faiths are aware of these, yet they do not want to come to common terms. When the President of America quoted the above it is loud and clear to the rest of the world.

All these quotes have originated from one source. It is the Creator of this world and its belongings. We the humanbeings are to live in harmony till we meet HIM. Meeting HIM is certain. The President was right when he said there is only one law that binds all the humanbeings. It is HIS law and it will be known when we meet HIM. Mr President please stand for justice that is going to prevail in this world and Hereafter. May the Creator give you the courage to continue to stand for justice.
