“Grand Ole Panic”

Rachel Maddow (MSNBC) recently had David Frum on her show.

David Frum was a former speechwriter for President Bush, a current writer for The National Review and a member of The American Enterprise Institute (a conservative think tank).

It’s astonishing that a liberal like Maddow can so elegantly handle criticism and then retort to that criticism in a completely civilized fashion.  This is what conservative pundits like Frum should be able to do just as well (but often are not able to; think: Bill O’Reilly or Sean Hannity).

The video below is of Maddow speaking to Frum about the split that is occurring between many Republicans and the McCain campaign.  Also, the “equivalence” the GOP is trying to level against the Democrats with issues like The Keating 5 Scandal vs William Ayers, economic issues vs. not wanting to talk about the economy, and ethics questions vs yelling “kill him” and “terrorist” at McCain rallies.

A very interesting discussion indeed.
